After owning a number of Bearded Collies, I know the eyes are entirely improper - but am excited about the fact that a Bearded Collie is being used for the film - HEY - it DOES resemble Tim Allen!

... Amy, thanks for the clarification. I'll agree with the above posts, this is a scarey pic. :( If it DOES end up being eyes-over-canid for the movie I think I'll stay home while it's at the local theater!*urgh* Creepy!

Although I agree that the movie poster is very creepy looking, people should know that the dog in this remake is NOT an Old English Sheepdog. It is a Bearded Collie.

Isn't it more likely that in the remake Tim Allen's eyes (or CG replicas) will be superimposed over the dog's for the whole film? I find it unlikely a Disney poster would be too arty or misrepresent their main character.

Makes sense as most emotion, etc, is expressed through the eyes; so if the producer wanted the audience to connect with an animal (especially one already meant to be human), then the first thing they would do is modify the eyes.

Guess we'll find out when the theatrical teaser arrives!

I remember seeing the original Shaggy Dog when I was a kid (it must have been re-released in the 70's sometime). All I remember about it is that I was terrified of the halfway state of his transformation (Not far removed from a wolf-man, I suppose). So to me it's no wonder this poster comes off as creepy!

Yeah, I'm with you in that this is a highly creep-tastic movie poster. The moment I saw it, my reaction was along the lines of, "Yikes! That's a bad idea!"
